Drawing of a scythe in front of two figures. The figures are facing away from each other, only visible from the shoulders up, the scythe forming the border between them. On the left, the scene is a sunny day over a wheat field. On the right, a dark moonlit night in a graveyard. The left figure is a dark brown peahen, the spirit of Life, and the right one is a pale, skeletal deer, the spirit of Death. Both have an iridescent effect to them.

Day 23 - Scythe

I wanted to do something with how scythes have been altered, both visually and socially, from a farming tool to a symbol of death. Funnily enough, looking at it now, I realized I put the blade at the angle for the death-symbol, not the farming symbol. Intentional choice? I can't remember now, but I think it serves the blending of the two ideas.

This also gave me an opportunity to do a first-draft design of the Spirits of Life and Death in this world.
